ADB LINK
Full hardware diagnostic for any Android phone. WiFi or USB. No root.
11 diagnostic modules run using ADB shell commands — no app needed on the phone. Connect wirelessly over WiFi (auto-discovery, no IP address needed) or plug in a USB cable. ADB tools bundled — nothing else to install. For deeper functional tests (speaker, mic, touch mapping, NFC), a lightweight companion app is pushed silently via ADB and can be removed after. Built for independent repair shops, used phone buyers, and anyone who needs to know what's inside a phone without opening it.
When You Need It
Pre/Post Repair Check
Run a full scan before opening a phone. Run it again after. Prove you didn't break anything during the repair — or catch exactly what changed.
Batch Triage
Phone shop gets 20 trade-ins. Scan each one in 30 seconds over WiFi. Battery degraded? Sensors missing? Flag it before quoting a price.
Battery Health Assessment
The most common repair question: is this battery dying? Get temperature, voltage, health status, and charge cycles without opening the case.
Insurance / Warranty Documentation
Generate a timestamped JSON or HTML report showing hardware state at point of sale. Attach to the transaction record.
Used Phone Buying
Meeting a seller on Facebook Marketplace? Run the scan on the spot. No app install needed — just WiFi and wireless debugging enabled.
Sensor Verification
Customer says their compass is broken or screen rotation doesn't work. Check if the gyroscope and magnetometer are actually responding with live sensor streaming.
How It Works
Enable Developer Options
On the phone: Settings > About Phone > tap Build Number 7 times. Then Settings > Developer Options > enable USB Debugging (wired) or Wireless Debugging (WiFi).
Connect
USB: plug in a cable. WiFi: connect both devices to the same network — ADB Link discovers the phone automatically via mDNS.
Launch ADB Link
Open the exe. Click SCAN. Connected devices appear in the dropdown — wired and wireless.
Pair (First Time Only)
Accept the pairing/authorisation prompt on the phone. After that, the device is trusted.
Diagnose
Select the device from the dropdown. Click DIAGNOSE. Full report in under 30 seconds.
What It Tests
Health status, temperature, voltage, capacity, charge state. Flags degraded cells.
Full inventory with live readings — accelerometer, gyro, magnetometer, barometer, proximity, light, and more.
Count, front/back/ultrawide identification, supported resolutions, flash, autofocus.
Resolution, density, refresh rate, HDR capability.
Total, used, and free space — internal and external.
WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, cellular signal strength, SIM state.
Speaker and microphone hardware detection, routing state.
CPU model, core count, architecture, RAM total/free, system uptime.
Sensor present, hardware ID, enrolled fingerprint count.
Manufacturer, model, Android version, serial, IMEI, build fingerprint.
Full hardware capability map from pm list features — categorised by function.
Companion App
For tests that need the phone to do something active, ADB Link silently pushes a lightweight companion app via ADB. You never need to touch the phone's app store. The companion handles:
Audio Test
Plays a 440Hz tone through the speaker, records via mic, confirms both work.
Touch Mapping
8x16 grid — drag your finger to map dead zones. Coverage percentage reported.
Display Test
Cycles solid colours (R/G/B/W/K) for dead pixel and backlight bleed inspection.
NFC Reader
Reads any NFC tag — ID, tech type, NDEF records, Mifare sector data.
Sensor Stream
Live sensor data at 200ms intervals. Watch accelerometer, gyro, magnetometer in real-time.
What It Cannot Do
No diagnostic tool is complete. These are the things ADB Link cannot test without physical intervention or root access:
- –Cannot test flashlight/torch without an installed app or root
- –Cannot test vibration motor — can confirm service exists but not trigger it
- –Cannot test speaker/mic audio quality — companion app can confirm they work, not how well
- –Cannot detect touch screen dead zones without user interaction (companion app provides this)
- –Cannot test charging port data transfer capability
- –WiFi mode: phone must have screen awake during scan (mDNS stops broadcasting when screen off). USB mode: works regardless.
- –Not a certified testing tool — reports are informational, not insurer-accepted

Questions
Does the phone need an app installed?
The base diagnostic (all 11 modules) uses only ADB shell commands — nothing is installed on the phone. For deeper functional tests (audio, touch mapping, display, NFC), a companion app is pushed via ADB automatically. It never touches the Play Store and can be uninstalled after testing.
Does it need root?
No. Everything runs through standard ADB wireless debugging, available on any Android phone running Android 11 or later.
What about older Android versions?
Wireless debugging requires Android 11+. Older phones (Android 5+) work fine over USB — same diagnostics, just plug in a cable.
Is my data safe?
ADB Link reads hardware status only. It does not access photos, messages, contacts, or any personal data. The diagnostic commands query system services (dumpsys), not user storage.
Does it work on Samsung / Pixel / OnePlus / etc?
Yes. The parsers handle manufacturer-specific output formats. Tested on Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra — works across brands.
Can I run it on multiple phones at once?
The scan discovers all devices broadcasting on the network. Select one from the dropdown to diagnose. Process them sequentially — scan once, diagnose each.
