WINDOWS SERVICING
Devices come back working — with control kept where it belongs, safety posture applied properly, and remote support available only when the owner asks for it.
Owner-first setups. Family-safe configuration where wanted. Optional opt-in remote support with written consent. The chat comes first — we agree the scope before anything gets touched.
The person we hand the machine back to keeps the reins. Accounts set up so anyone who shouldn't be installing things has to ask. Parental controls layered so the parent has real control, not the illusion of it. No hidden accounts, no covert access.
- ›Standard vs Administrator accounts configured the way they were meant to be, so admin actions require the admin password.
- ›For family laptops: parent is Administrator, child is Standard. This one setting carries everything else.
- ›For adult single-user machines: one admin account with the settings surfaced clearly so nothing changes without the owner knowing.
Windows Defender turned on the way it's designed to be turned on. On-demand backstop for when something feels off. Telemetry surface closed down without breaking anything the owner uses. No BitLocker traps.
- ›Defender: Real-time + Tamper Protection + Controlled Folder Access + PUA Protection + Behavior Monitoring — all on, verified.
- ›Malwarebytes Free installed for one-off scans. No subscription, no nag.
- ›O&O ShutUp10++ used to close down the telemetry the user never asked to send. Reversible if a specific feature turns out to need one of the toggles back on.
- ›DNS-level content filter available for families that want it, category-based, applied at the network adapter so it survives whichever browser gets used.
- ›BitLocker only enabled when the owner asks for it, with the recovery key handed over on paper they will actually find.
Optional. If the owner wants us to be able to reach the machine when something misbehaves later, we set up unattended remote access under written consent. If they don't, we don't. The service isn't a foot in the door — it's a door they can open when they need us.
- ›RustDesk installed as a service, so one machine ID covers every account on the laptop.
- ›Permanent access password logged in a written consent record the owner keeps and can revoke.
- ›Encrypted connection, no third-party account required on the owner's end.
- ›Access is never covert — the owner sees the system-tray icon and knows when a session is running.
Reach out — describe the machine and what needs doing. If we're not the right fit, we say so. If we are, we agree the scope in writing.
Fixed scope, fixed price. Parental controls, remote support, and any extras are all opt-in — not a bundled surprise on the invoice.
The machine comes in, gets driver-clean, security-posture applied, controls configured to the scope. Progress reported as we go — no black box.
Machine comes back with a written record of what was done, what was installed, and where the passwords live. Any remote support access is opt-in and revocable.
Physical device servicing is offered locally in the UK — drop-off and hand-back in person, or pickup within local range.
Reach out with your postcode when you first make contact and we'll say straight away whether you're in range. A postal service is possible on request but is not part of the standard offering right now.
