The Conclusion Was Wrong
Correction on yesterday. Investigation reopens.
Yesterday's post claimed Hyperion was the cause of the input lag that came back after the morning's Razer fix. The reasoning was: closing Hyperion stopped the cursor flicker, and I called that a symptom-toggle confirmation Hyperion was fighting the input pipeline.
This morning the lag is still here. In the terminal. In Notepad. The Razer stack is still gone. Hyperion is still closed. Typing is still behind my fingers.
Which means the symptom-toggle test proved what it actually tested — that Hyperion causes the cursor flicker — and nothing more. I coupled two symptoms (flicker and typing lag) and treated one confirmation as covering both. That was the leap. It was wrong.
The typing lag is a separate problem. I have not identified its cause. The investigation is open again.
Not going to spin theories in public until I have a test that separates suspect from cause. That is the whole point of yesterday's third takeaway, which I then failed to apply to the second takeaway of the same post.
Updating when I know something. Marking this here for the record so yesterday's piece is not left standing without correction.
